Steamers – Tales on the River Clyde

Coming soon, my new book “Steamers“. Once again this is an anthology of tales and stories, but this time centered around the Clyde steamers. The steamers were a fleet of both turbine and paddle steamers that operated on and around the River Clyde in Scotland by the Caledonian Steam Packet Company, the famous “CSPCO”. The very last sea going passenger paddle ferry in the world, called the Waverley, is still operating and ferrying delighted passengers up and down the Clyde.

Paddle Steamers were more than just boats! They had a heart and soul and rightly take a place in the history of steam ships. Their beautiful great piston engines held passengers sufficiently enthralled that they often forgot to go on deck to take in the magnificent views as they sailed around the Clyde. So take a trip back in time and enjoy the memories and photographs of those once proud vessels.
